Join us for a meaningful Sabbath gathering
We were designed to WORK from our REST, not REST from our WORK. Join us for a simple time to connect with God, reflect on the roots of your faith, and enter His rest.
How can we intentionally create space for Sabbath as an integral part of our lives?
The truth is, we move so fast through life that it is hard to take the time to be still.
During this once a month gathering, we will explore the ancient Jewish traditions surrounding the Sabbath, such as lighting candles, breaking bread, and taking the cup, to help us slow down and connect with our spiritual roots. And given current events, holidays, and Jewish life, we will take opportunities to share significant faith moments that we may all grow as the body.

The Sabbath Gathering is an opportunity for all believers, regardless of their backgrounds and beliefs, to come together and connect with God through reflecting on their spiritual roots. We observe Shabbat (Sabbath) from a Messianic Jewish perspective, and explore the ancient Jewish traditions associated with it.
-
The Sabbath takes place at 7:00pm, unless we meet early for dinner, and takes place the first Friday each month.
-
We anticipate these times to take no more than one hour with an opportunity to stay longer for fellowship.
-
Absolutely not! All are welcome to our Sabbath gathering, no matter your background or beliefs. We invite people of all backgrounds and faiths to learn about the roots of the Christian faith and participate in a meaningful Sabbath experience.
-
This will be low profile and very simple. We will provide candles, bread, and wine/grape juice. All you need to bring is yourself!
-
No, all ages are welcome! Children can be great participants in this experience as they learn about their faith and deepen their connection to God.

This question could take hours to unpack, but essentially, we are Jews who believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah of Israel. We read from both the Old and New Testaments and bridge the gap between the two. We embrace the teachings of both to gain a deeper understanding and connection with God. Take a listen to our podcast to learn more at thejewishroad.com/podcast.

No. We are providing this space with no cost. We are a crowdfunded nonprofit organization and you are welcome to support our work by visiting our donation page.

We host prayer nights, community gatherings for holidays, Shabbat dinners, Passover Seders, and tours to Israel.

A great recommended resource for the Sabbath
David Hoffbrand has become a good friend of The Jewish Road and we are excited to share his new book, 52 Sabbaths: Unwrapping The Gift Of God’s Rest. Accessible and a perfect guide for anyone wanting to incorporate a new rhythm of rest into their lives, this book will be a great companion in the journey. We talk on a recent podcast you can listen to by clicking the button below. See David’s other projects at davidhoffbrand.com.
What is The Jewish Road?
We are two Jews who talk about Jesus, connecting Act One (Old Testament) to Act Two (New Testament) and bringing the depth and roots of the faith to the world.
Matt Davis
Founder + Executive Director
For the past two decades, Matt Davis has been married to his beautiful wife Marilee (the story of them meeting is fantastic!), and together they have three outstanding kids. Matt is a graduate of BIOLA University and Talbot School of Theology. After serving in a church for the past two decades as a Teaching and Executive Pastor, he started The Jewish Road with his dad (the guy below). One of Matt’s greatest joys in life is bringing families on legacy trips to the Middle East to teach them about the roots of their faith.
Ron Davis
Founder + Executive Director
Ron Davis is husband to the beautiful Kay and the grand patriarch of a whole tribe of kids and grandkids. Ron has too many post-graduate degrees (Talbot School of Theology) to count, but his main passion in life is sharing the gospel with Jewish people. When he first met Jesus as His Jewish Messiah in his twenties, it changed everything for him!
Ron's mission is to equip the church to know the roots of their faith and to share the gospel with his Jewish brethren.
