Israel on Trial: Unpacking South Africa's Accusations of Genocide
If you’re not paying attention, you just might miss it. It’s not being talked about in the mainstream and with EVERYTHING else taking place in the world, this monumental move has grave implications.
Something very sinister is taking place, once again, against the people and nation of Israel.
We have said that there is a war in the unseen realm that is being fought against God’s chosen people.
This time, as Israel is beating back the enemy Hamas who viciously and barbarically attacked them and murdered hundreds innocent civilians on October 7th; and they refuse to surrender until all those who seek to destroy all of the Jewish people (genocide), they are themselves being accused of genocide for defending themselves.
This time the attack of the enemy is seeking to utilize legal proceedings instituted by South Africa against the State of Israel on December 29, 2023. The allegations are that Israel has violated its obligations under the 1948 genocide convention and international law in regard to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. South Africa is requesting that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) rule against Israel in this matter and demand that they cease and desist the war against Hamas.
After the attacks by Hamas, Yoav Gallant, Israeli minister of defense, stated,
“We are fighting human animals, and we are acting accordingly.”
With a twist of reality, Israel is now being accused as the one who is the aggressor. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel did not start this war, but we will end it.
South Africa states that Israel’s actions are evidence of genocidal intent. Israel rejected those allegations with “disgust” and accused South Africa of “cooperating with a terrorist organization that is calling for the destruction of the State of Israel,” describing the actions of South Africa as blood libel, and claiming that they were “abetting the modern heirs of the Nazis.”
We are once again witnessing the efforts of the enemy of God and of Israel to annihilate the Jews. If the enemy would be successful in that, then he can thwart the fulfillment of the promises of God to Israel and world redemption with the return of the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) and the establishment of the Kingdom of God.
We should also bear in mind that Israel’s defense of itself should not be characterized as one of hatred toward its enemy. As G.K. Chesterton said,
“The soldier does not fight for the hatred of those in front of him, but for the love of those behind him.”
The proceedings on the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel will take place in the ICJ in the morning of January 11, 2024 (probably as you are waking up this morning).
It is imperative once again and still that we be watchmen on the wall, standing with Israel and never ceasing to cry out to God and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The promise is that they will prosper who love thee.
About The Jewish Road
At the heart of The Jewish Road lies a passion ignited by a father-son duo, Ron and Matt Davis. Our journey began with a simple yet profound desire: to bridge the gap in understanding that has kept two faith communities apart for too long. We're here to help Christians connect with the roots of their faith and for Jews to explore the life and teachings of Jesus with an open heart.
Imagine a world where every believer, be it Jewish or Christian, not only knows their faith but truly understands its origins and interconnectedness. We strive to restore the Jewish essence of the Gospel, offering insights that deepen knowledge, bolster faith, and propel the growth of the Kingdom. The narrative of faith, we believe, is a two-act play where both acts are essential for a comprehensive grasp of the story. By uniting these acts, we're presenting a more holistic and enriching perspective.
Life is too short to wander without knowing the full essence of your beliefs. Whether you're attending a synagogue or a church, there's so much more to discover. The Jewish Road is here to guide, enlighten, and, most importantly, bring both halves of the story together. Join us on this journey; together
